Twenty years ago, Kathy Gingerich was knee deep raising 9 lively children. She searched relentlessly to find a farm that grew organic produce, especially strawberries. She couldn’t find any within driving distance and as she often did, she decided to do it herself. After years of growing strawberries for her own family in her garden, the dream of having a local option for organic strawberries came true in her own pastures.
Originally a cattle ranch, our farm has been using organic, regenerative practices for the last 10-15 years. Grass finished beef was our very first product offered to the community. Since then, we’ve transitioned into raising spray-free strawberries and soy-free pastured eggs. We truly loved offering the beef to our community and may bring it back one day. (Be sure to follow along on social media to stay in the loop on our current farm’s offerings.)
When you visit the farm to pick strawberries or pick up fresh eggs, you will still see a small herd of cattle grazing the pastures, along with pastured chickens in their mobile chicken tractor or our happy herd of hair sheep (keep an eye out for lambs in the spring!).
